NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – March 10, 2011 / PulseNews/ — With the Southeastern storm system system firmly in place and the severe weather

threat weakening, record low temperatures are underway in a region that has

languished since Saturday when they hit zero-degrees in Mobile, Alabama.

Many cities in the deep South experienced single-digit

temperatures, including Dallas, the nation’s third largest city. Baltimore also experienced

its single-digit temperature the day before.

Tropical Storm Isaac is set to reach the Gulf Coast early Thursday

morning.

MODERATE TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS

CENTRAL FLORIDA/NORTHERN WEST PALM BEACH COUNTY/ BOCA RATON

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS:

Heavy rain began to arrive as an approaching cold front flowed northward through the Florida

Everglades.

Stations from the Key West area south to St. Petersburg received

almost three inches of rain, with 4.6 inches falling near the Hollywood

and Boca Raton areas.

Thunderstorms with 60 mph winds or more were spotted from south

Orlando to Pensacola.

METEOROLOGIST 1 A COOL START to the day in Boca:

Portions of Palm Beach County and western Broward County got an early

spring surprise when well-above-average overnight lows were registered.

Temperatures fell into the mid-50s with numerous flurries possible.

By dawn, the winds were stiffest in the northern regions of Broward

and Palm Beach County.

Only the Melbourne area of Melbourne, Melbourne and Port

Charles hit the low 40s.
